This is the first card in the element Air. If you drew this card, you’ve probably just realized that you have to start again. Not that you were going in the “wrong” direction or that what you did was a “failure.” It’s just that there’s just more work to be done and you’re back to the basics, for now. Oh well!!
As the saying goes, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” The Trickster reminds us we’re not the ones in control. When we can laugh at ourselves, we embrace the Beginner’s Mind with patience, curiosity, and enthusiasm. Life is a mystery—and it can be fun!
Reversed Meaning
Okay, you get that you’re back to basics, but you aren’t laughing. Or, you’re still holding out hope that the situation will u-turn and things will go back to how they were. This is a good time to go toss a ball with a kid or pet, or with your inner child. The ball brings fun (laughter!) and lightness (juggling). What goes up must come down, and often bounces! Getting physical will help you accept your situation and lighten up. Then pull another card or check the other cards in your reading—especially the Earth cards—for some ideas.
