Whenever this card shows up, it means we need to shake up our view of things. It’s amazing how quickly we can put on “blinders” based on past experience! The Perspective card reminds us to have a “Beginner’s Mind” — to see our situation without preconceived ideas and limitations, the way a child might. Often, a message or opportunity is trying to reach us yet we can’t perceive it because we think we already know what there is to know about a circumstance.

It’s time for some mental gymnastics! Open your mind, flip your understanding of things upside-down and sideways the way a child might. More WILL be revealed if you remain flexible and adaptable-minded.

Reversed Meaning

If this card is reversed, you may be taking too much responsibility for the outcome of your situation. Fear, pessimism, and even sarcasm based on painful life experiences can creep in without our noticing. Or, you may simply be too close to the situation to have the perspective offered by time. Shuffle and pick another card from the deck for help with loosening up your view of things.
